This work is a continuation of Taonga Puoro that I learnt from Hirini Melbourne at Waikato University in New Zealand. I always experiment with alternative media now as whale tooth and bone is becoming a rare and difficult to acquire.


Title: Corian Nguru (Nose Flute)

Description: Seagrass Corian, sequin.

Size: Koauau, 80mm x 35mm x 55mm, (2) Karanga Manu, 45mm x 32mm x 40mm.

History: This work was created for the show ‘Whenua’ a joint show between Toi Maori Aotearoa and Tinakori Art Gallery.
